Born Gemini in 1981, this empowering, mind sizzling wordsmith began performing spoken word art three years ago in Tampa Bay, Florida. Lacey Nagy is the former Creative Director for the Write Side Poets, Inc. and was responsible for organizing workshops for children’s acting camps, fundraising, and was the choreographer for the team poetry pieces that came in first place in the Fighting Words Slam. In 2004, she won first place in the Black on Black Rhyme Annual Slam, scoring the highest out of all three categories by performing a love poem… risky since love poetry is not too popular in spoken word competitions. She was also the co-host for Civic Situations, Tampa’s only teen poetry venue. On the weekends, she opened her home to poets and artists from all over the county and created fabulous cooked meals and inspiring cups of coffee and cappuccinos while hosting writing sessions. She along with two of her best friends, Asia Elliot (winner of 2005 high school district poetry competition) and Pedro Jarquin (founder of Nation of Poetry) wrote, directed, produced, and starred in St. Petersburg’s first spoken word art play, Spittin’ Images, A Play on Words.

Lacey Nagy moved to Gainesville and co-founded ThirdEyeSpoken in the summer of 2005 with Kylie Slavik and Gene Moore. She has dedicated her life to uplifting the world through the arts and has inspired her community to be a part of the enchantment and social nourishment of ThirdEyeSpoken. She is a loving spirit who adores her friends, family, and cat companions and enjoys metaphysics, the mind and body connection, Hypnotherapy, good healthy food, harp and piano music, children, and learning different cultures and belief systems. Lacey is an ordained minister through the Alliance of Divine Love and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist through The Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy (www.tfioh.com/LaceyNagy.html). After surviving a painful and depressing childhood and recovering from drug abuse, Lacey feels privileged to do Goddess work through this artistic, healing, and community elevating possibility.
